JONATHAN BATISTE for : Louisiana-born artist Jonathan Batiste performs a stirring rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner". Batiste, a pianist, vocalist, bandleader and actor was recently named co-director and curator at The National Jazz Museum in Harlem.

LAWRENCE LEATHERS for : Lawrence Leathers is one bad cat on the drums. From Lansing Michigan, he's done quite a bit of traveling tearin' it up, scene-by-scene. Leathers, who has his sights set on giving back to the jazz scene through education, regularly plays around NYC hosting After-Hours jam sessions at Smalls Jazz Club and Dizzy's Coca-Cola Club.

CHARENEE WADE for Charenee Wade is already a young veteran on the jazz scene. Well respected by her peers and elders as a fine vocalist and educator, Wade was the first-runner up in the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Vocal Competition and Jazzmobile Vocal Competition.

MICHAEL MWENSO for : Vocalist Michael Mwenso hails from Sierra Leone, West Africa and is relatively new to New York City. He is a curator at Jazz at Lincoln Center and also appears on its radio station as a host.

MATTHIAS LOESCHER for : Matthias Loescher, a Fulbright Scholar living in Vienna took New York City by storm in the two-years he studied here. Loescher studied at SUNY Purchase College in Upstate, NY and delved into the vibrant NYC music scene, which was a stark contrast to his native Austria. He currently lives in Vienna, where he plays with his band the Ruff Pack, which merges jazz and Hip-Hop.
