S1, E9 : Josh Holcomb (Trombone)

Trombonist and bandleader Josh Holcomb is currently a student at the Manhattan School Of Music. He's played with such jazz greats as Wynton Marsalis, Arturo O'Farrill and Wycliffe Gordon. He is currently a student of Gordon's. Holcomb grew up singing in the church choir and is heavily influenced by Gospel hymns. The Queens-native took a liking to 20s jazz and has been a part of the growing movement of young musicians that have resuscitated the scene in NYC. He also plays with the Hot Sardines and his own band, the Lucky Chops Brass Band.
